All living organisms share the following characteristics:
M ovement – to change position through the action of muscles(animals) and slow growth movements (plants)
R espiration – the process by which living cells release energy from glucose and other organic molecules
S ensitivity – to respond to changes in the environment, internally and externally
N utrition – the process by which a living organism assimilates food in order to respire, grow, repair and reproduce
E xcretion – the process of eliminating metabolic waste from living cells and organisms
R eproduction – the sexual or asexual process by which a living organism creates offspring/ new organisms of the same species
G rowth – the increase in size, mass and form by a living organism
